PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general-purpose data transfer device that can transfer multidimensional data, and an image processor that includes the data transfer device. SOLUTION: A DMA controller 1 has an AN0R register for setting the number of data included in one dimension ((n-1) dimension) in a two-dimensional (n-dimensional) data area, and a BS1R register and a BS0R register for setting dimensional (second dimensional and first dimensional) sizes in, for example, a two-dimensional block data area that is a transfer target in the two-dimensional data area, respectively. Starting from an SAR that is a transfer source address of the block data area, subsequent addresses of the block data area are generated with the values of the AN0R, BS1R and SAR, and the block data area is extracted and transferred according to the generated addresses.
