PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera superior in operability, when changing operation parameters such as a diaphragm value and shutter speed. SOLUTION: A release button 1 can be operated to be rocked in back-and- forth and right-and-left directions on a plane which is nearly orthogonal to the depressing direction. When the button 1 is operated to be rocked, it is detected by switches 5A to 5D (switches 5C and 5D disposed on the inner side and the front side of a paper surface not shown in the Figure 1 (b)). By operating and rocking the button 1 in the right-and-left direction in Figure 1 (a) when setting the shutter speed as an operation parameter, the shutter speed is changed by 1/3 steps, while by operating and rocking the button 1 in an vertically directions in the Figure 1 (a), the shutter speed can be changed by one steps. With depressing action of the button 1, the release operation is performed in the camera.
