PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method for thermal hysteresis of a foreign substance, wherein the trace of heat treatment applied thereto hardly remains, typically includes such as glass, pottery, or rocks, and to provide a discrimination method for the time of entrapment. SOLUTION: This inspection method for thermal hysteresis of the entrapped foreign substance, in foods to which heat treatment is applied, is determined by the thermal hysteresis of the foreign substance, based on the light emission quantity from the foreign substance.
