<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determination of metabolic flux affecting production of useful material. <P>SOLUTION: The method for determination of metabolic flux affecting production of useful material by using cells comprises following processes, (1) a process of producing a stoichiometric matrix based on biochemical reactions from a substrate to the object useful material, (2) a process of selecting independent metabolic flux of the same number to the degrees of freedom of the stoichiometric matrix, (3) a process of producing a sufficient number of combinations of random free flux for statistical analysis and calculating distribution of the metabolic flux based on the stoichiometric matrix from each of the produced combinations, (4) a process of obtaining a regression formula comprising free flux of minimum numbers manifesting correlations with the product useful material, from the metabolic flux distribution obtained in the above, by a multivariate statistical analysis, and (5) a process of determining the metabolic flux affecting production of useful material based on coefficients in the regression formula. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
