PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric opening apparatus which ensures the stable opening degree of a multifilament yarn without relating to the change of working conditions. SOLUTION: In this multifilament yarn-opening apparatus, the inner diameter of the top end of a grounded ring is 6 to 25 mm, and the inner diameter of the rear end is 5 to 24 mm. The inner diameter of the top end is larger than the inner diameter of the rear end. The distance between the top end and the rear end is 3 to 25 mm. The yarn exit of a voltage-applying electrode is placed behind the top end of the grounded ring in the yarn-conveying direction. The yarn exit is placed between a position separated from the rear end of the grounded ring at a distance of 5 mm in the direction opposite to the yarn-conveying direction and a position separated from the rear end of the grounded ring at a distance of 23 mm in the yarn-conveying direction.
