[Also in Division H2] A connector for use with printed circuit boards comprises spring contacts 12 operable by cams 18 to move apart to facilitate insertion of a board 20. The housing is of a high strength resinous material, e.g. glass-filled polycarbonate or epoxy resin. The contact points may be gold-plated. Additional biasing means may be provided to increase contact pressure. A series of such connectors may be used with a stack of boards with high density circuitry in a tank containing a liquid coolant and a heat-exchange unit (Fig. 3, not shown). |
