<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material which is excellent in printability using a solvent type ink such as a flexo-alcohol ink, and is excellent in head matching properties of a printing machine. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal recording material comprises a flaky silica in a thermal color developing layer in the thermal recording material provided with the thermal color developing layer which thermally develops a color on a substrate, or the thermal recording material comprises the flaky silica in the thermal color developing layer in the thermal recording material provided with the thermal color developing layer which thermally develops a color on the substrate and a protective layer.
