The invention concerns a method for making a flat zirconium alloy product, characterized in that it consists in: preparing a zirconium alloy ingot containing at least 95 % of zirconium; shaping said alloy to obtain a flat product; subjecting said product to a hardening treatment beta to obtain an acicular structure; subjecting said product to a single-pass rolling treatment without intermediate annealing, between room temperature and 200 DEG C, with a reduction rate between 2 and 20 %; and subjecting said flat product to an annealing treatment alpha or alpha + beta between 500 and 800 DEG C for 2 minutes to 10 hours. The invention also concerns the resulting flat zirconium alloy product, and a fuel assembly component for a nuclear power plant reactor obtained by shaping said product.
