<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container used for cooking and sealed packaging of rice, which is not polluted with falling germs or the like even if a large-scale sterile room is not used upon rice cooking, enables a stable heat sealing of the container after rice cooking when the cooking is done under such a condition that a content boils to spill part of it, enables such a cooking that grains of the rice are properly erected, and can be sealed and packaged in a sterile manner. <P>SOLUTION: The container 100 for cooking and sealed packaging of the rice comprises a tray-shaped container body 50, which has a top opening, on the peripheral edge of which an outward flange 4 is formed with one or more steam venting holes 6a to 6d formed thereon, a lid material 60, which covers the top of the container body 50 and is heat glued on the outer peripheral edge of the flange 4 that is outside the holes 6a-6d, and a sealing material 70, which is heat glued on the back of the part of the flange 4 that is the periphery of the holes 6a-6d to seal the holes.
