PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data retrieval system with improved operability. SOLUTION: When a display change-over key is inputted in a state displaying a narrowed search result image plane, a search type is changed, and a match full search is stored in selected search type information 24c. A control part 22 carries out a match full search process using a search key used in a proximate narrowed search as a search key. A character to be used as the search key is renewed to a character stored in input character information 24a of a storing part 24 every time a character is newly inputted during a narrowed search process. When the display change-over key is inputted, a control part 22 carries out a match full search process using the character stored in the input character information 24a as the search key at the point of time of input.
