<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser driving signal controlling method of an optical disk recording and reproducing device which conducts signal recording and reproducing operations of a disk from an optical pickup. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk recording and reproducing device comprises of a photodetector amplifying circuit 5 which amplifies signals obtained from a photodetector 3 that converts laser light beams reflected from a disk 4 into electric signals, a signal level detecting circuit 10 which detects an RF signal level during a reproducing interval among the signals outputted from the photodetector amplifying circuit 5 and a control circuit 8 that controls operations of a memory circuit 15 in which reflectivity data corresponding to the characteristics of the disk 4 are stored. Gain of the photodetector amplifying circuit 5 is set by detecting the kind of the disk 4 and is set based on the reflectivity data corresponding to the detected kind. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
