<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for relatively measuring quantity of cells by measuring activity of alkali phosphatase of cell such as embryo stem cell, osteoblast, chondrocyte having alkali phosphatase activity. <P>SOLUTION: The method comprises the steps of adding a substrate solution obtained by adding a fluorescent substance such as 4-methylumbelliferyl phosphate, etc., and/or light absorbing substance such as para-nitrophenyl phosphate, etc., to a buffer solution which is free from phosphoric acid and prepared to have pH of 7.5-8.5, to a cell culture of cells having alkali phosphatase activity such as the embryo stem cell, osteoblast, chondrocyte, and then reacting for 1-60 min, and a step measuring the fluorescence and/or absorbance of the reaction product to relatively measure the quantity of the culture product. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
