It is possible to provide viewing selection information and other additional information on user preference based on a user viewing history. A server searches contents viewed according to a viewing history accumulated by a user in a content information database, fetches a content table concerning viewed contents, and calculate appearance frequency for each genre, performer, or keyword. The genre or performer having a higher appearance frequency represents the user preference and interest, and these are provided as viewing support information or added value information to the user.
