The invention relates to an agent for treating metabolic syndrome and comprises at least one weight-reducing compound having a satiating effect and being capable of swelling or forming a gel, at least one cholesterol-lowering substance and/or an antidiabetic agent and optionally an antihypertonic agent. The inventive agent is characterized in that the ratio of the cholesterol-lowering substance to the compound having a satiating effect and/or the ratio of the antidiabetic agent to the compound having the satiating effect ranges between 9:1 and 1:9 if polymers are used as the cholesterol-lowering substance or the antidiabetic agent, and ranges between 1:1000 and 1:20 if pharmaceutically active substances are used as the cholesterol-lowering substance or the antidiabetic agent. |
