METHOD FOR DETECTING ABNORMAL SACCHARIFYING HEMOGLOBIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting abnormal hemoglobin (Hb). SOLUTION: The ratio of the amino acid residues of normal hemoglobin at least at two different places is preliminarily calculated from the saccharification amounts of the amino acid residues while the saccharification amounts in hemoglobin to be analyzed are respectively measured with respect to the same amino acid residues as the amino acid residues at two different places and the ratio of them is calculated from the measured saccharification amounts. This ratio is compared with the ratio in normal hemoglobin and hemoglobin to be analyzed is decided as normal hemoglobin if both ratios coincide with each other but decided as abnormal hemoglobin if both ratios are different from each other.
