PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent inaccurate positioning of a beltlike plating object to a mask rubber plate and abrasive deterioration in a flat rubber plate caused by such operation that, when the intermittently fed beltlike plating object is subjected to plating treatment, the beltlike plating object is directly depressed by the flat rubber plate in a plating part, and is press-fitting to the mask rubber plate. SOLUTION: The plating apparatus has a structure where winding rollers and movable rollers preventing the sagging of the beltlike plating object between the winding rollers are provided on both sides of the plating part along the conveying direction of the beltlike plating object via an elevation mechanism. The winding rollers and the movable rollers elevate/lower the beltlike plating object between the height in conveyance and the height in plating treatment instead of the flat rubber plate. After the completion of the elevating/lowering operation for the beltlike plating object, the flat rubber plate attaches to/detaches from the beltlike plating object, and applies compressive force to the beltlike plating object without friction.
