Flood prevention system has steel support posts stored in vertical ducts and pulled up and locked into support positions for fitting modular barrier sections

A modular flood prevention system has steel storage ducts (3) set vertically into the top of a flood prevention dam and into which are stored hollow steel uprights. Steel posts (8) are set into the dam near to the storage ducts to support a portable lightweight hoist which enables a two man crew to lift and lock the vertical supports into an extended position. A second two man crew with a second hoist lifts the modular barrier sections and positions them between the vertical supports. The barrier sections can be made of welded hollow section aluminium alloy and are stored on the dam within reach of the hoist.
