PURPOSE: A shifting device for a shift-by-wire system of a vehicle is provided to improve safety by preventing wrong shift operations by drivers' mistake, to facilitate operations by mounting the lifting device around a steering wheel, and to reduce the number of parts and weight by substituting a lever with the size of a multi-function switch for an existing shift lever and a mechanical structure. CONSTITUTION: A shifting device for a shift-by-wire system of a vehicle is mounted around a steering wheel and composed of a main shift lever(110) composed of a head unit(112) and a shifting unit(114) combined to the head unit and shifted to a shift level by the external force transmitted to the head unit and electrically coupled with a circuit to generate an electric signal corresponding to the position change of the shift level of the shifting unit and a sub shift lever(120) joined to the head unit of the main shift lever to switch a shift mode according to a combined state of the main shift lever and the sub shift lever.
