METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A DATA RATE OF A REVERSE LINK IN A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, PARTICULARLY RELATED TO DETERMINING THE DATA RATE WHILE REMOVING AN INTERFERENCE CAUSED BY A LOAD-BASED METHOD

PURPOSE: A method for controlling a data rate of a reverse link in a mobile communication system is provided to obtain a load based on a reference channel and a determined rate, and to compare the load with a preset reference value to select one of the load and an ROT, and to determine an assignable rate, thereby removing an interference when determining a rate of a reverse link. CONSTITUTION: A base station obtains a sector load based on a pilot channel as a reference channel and a data rate(300), and obtains an ROT by using a measured receiving power and a thermal noise power(303). The base station compares the obtained sector load with a preset sector load threshold value(301). If the sector load is bigger than the threshold value, the base station compares the measured ROT with a preset ROT threshold value(304). If the ROT is smaller than the threshold value, the base station sets an RAB to 1(305). The base station broadcasts the determined RAB to a mobile terminal(306).
