PURPOSE: A device and a method for changing a PN(Pseudo-random Number) offset hypothesis in a mobile communication system are provided to minimize an additional time necessary for changing a PN offset hypothesis, and to optimize a searching time, thereby perfectly removing N or N-1 chip time while properly controlling the PN offset hypothesis changing time. CONSTITUTION: An LFSR(Linear Feedback Shift Register)(200) generates a PN sequence. A PN state register(100) stores a PN state created before (N-1) chip based on a current PN state. An (N-1) chip previous PN sequence register(300) separately stores a PN sequence created right before the storing time from the (N-1) chip for storing the PN state. An (N-1) tap PN shift register(400) simultaneously loads PN sequence values stored in the (N-1) chip previous PN sequence register(300). |
