Railway track points, include rails with curved waist, point tongue and lip for covering space between waist and tongue

The points include special rails with a curved waist (1, 2) and a point tongue (3, 4) having a cover lip (7, 8) mounted on it. The waist and tongue can be in contact with each other when the points are closed or a space (9, 10) can be formed between them when the points are open. The lip is designed to cover this space when the points are open and when the points are closed a part of the lip is inserted beneath the rail and another part covers the space between the rail heads which is always present in the rear part of the points, irrespective of whether they are open or closed.
