PURPOSE: A PIP(Picture In Picture) system is provided to increase resolution of a sub screen video signal, down-sample the sub screen video signal and synthesize the sub screen video signal and a main screen video signal, to thereby improve the resolution of the sub screen. CONSTITUTION: A PIP system includes the first and second deinterleavers(202,204) for respectively increasing resolution of a video signal provided to a main screen and resolution of a video signal provided to a sub screen, and the first and second buffers(206,208) for respectively buffering the output signals of the first and second deinterleavers. The PIP system further includes a down-sampler(210) for down-sampling the output signal of the second buffer to generate a video signal corresponding to a reduced sub screen, and the third buffer(212) for synthesizing the output signals of the first buffer and the down-sampler to generate a PIP signal. |
