METHOD AND AN APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING GOLF COURSE INFORMATION BY USING A GPS MOBILE PHONE, PARTICULARLY FOR AUTOMATICALLY PROVIDING A GOLF COURSE GUIDANCE MESSAGE TO A CLIENT WHEN THE CLIENT WITH A GSP MOBILE PHONE ENTERS A GOLF COURSE

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for providing golf course information by using a GPS mobile phone are provided to allow a user to easily round in a golf course by downloading various information related to the golf course to a mobile phone. CONSTITUTION: A user terminal position checking unit(310) receives a GPS signal transmitted from a GPS satellite(100) and processes it, receives GPS information transmitted from a base station(200), and checks a position of a user terminal(400). A golf course information service guidance unit(320) determines a position of the user terminal(400), and provides golf course guidance information to the user terminal(400) when the user terminal(400) has entered a golf course. A GPS mapping tool(340) makes each position information of the golf course transmitted from the GPS satellite(100) data and stores the information data in an information DB(350). Upon receiving a request for a golf information service from the user terminal(400), an information providing server(360) downloads map data of a corresponding course as stored in the information DB(350) to the user terminal(400). The user terminal(400) downloads the information from the information providing server(360) and stores it in its internal memory, matches information of each hole requested by the user in rounding to a current position, and displays it on a screen.
