摘要 An optical fiber ribbon and a method for manufacturing an optical fiber array using the optical fiber ribbon are provided to guarantee optical credible alignment accuracy by using the optical fiber ribbon with a partially metallized layer on a portion of a mid-span bare fiber. An optical fiber ribbon includes an optical fiber ribbon portion(10) and at least one metallized layers(13). The optical fiber ribbon portion(10) includes a bare fiber interval(15) formed by removing a coating apart from one end thereof by a predetermined length. At least one metallized layers(13) are coated on an external periphery of respective bare fibers with removed coatings, from a start position to an end position. The start position is apart from the end portion of the bare fiber interval by a predetermined length. The end position is an end portion of the bare fiber interval. A gold plated layer is further included on the one metallized layers(13) at least.
