PURPOSE: A method for checking short message reception of a mobile terminal is provided to allow a sender to recognize whether a receiver has opened his/her message by previously setting a reception check flag for a short message, transmitting the short message, and making the receiver transmit a reception check message to the sender by the reception check flag. CONSTITUTION: An origination mobile terminal creates a short message, sets a reception check flag, includes it in the short message, and transmits the short message(SP1). A reception mobile terminal receives and checks the short message, and determines whether a reception check flag has been set(SP2). If the reception check flag has been set, the reception mobile terminal requests approval of a reception check message transmission, and transmits a reception check message when the reception check message transmission is approved(SP3). The origination mobile terminal displays that the transmitted message has been received and opened according to the reception check message(SP4). |
