PURPOSE: A dryer and a heater error sensing method thereof are provided to prevent the washing machine from regarding a simple decrease of temperature as an error of a heater by sensing external factors such as door opening and by changing driving time of the heater and to improve a function of drying by accurately determining the error. CONSTITUTION: A dryer with a heater(500) and a temperature sensing unit(800) comprises a key input unit(100) for inserting an operation order that users demand; a load driving unit(600) for outputting driving signals to a motor(400) and the heater in inputting the order of operation start by the key input unit; a door open sensing unit(200) composed of a reed switch to detect the door opening in inputting the order of operation start by the key input unit; a microcomputer(300) controlling the heater driven in inputting the order of operation start, controlling an initial driving time of the heater changeable according to the result sensed by the door open sensing unit, and judging an error of the heater by inputting a temperature value from the temperature sensing unit according to the heater driving; and an error display unit(700) composed a display part and an alarm generation part to show the error by control signals. A heater error sensing method is composed of a first stage driving the heater and sensing the door opening in inputting the order of operation start during a pre-set standard time; a second stage restarting count of the pre-set standard time if the door opening is sensed; and a third stage judging error according to whether a temperature in the drum reaches a pre-set temperature when recounting the standard time is completed. |
