PURPOSE: A dryer of a drum-type washing machine with a loose belt sensor and a control method thereof are provided to sense whether a belt for driving a motor and a heater is loosened or not by using pulse depending on whether the laundry in the drum contacts with a humidity sensor during rotation of the drum, to lower the production cost without the existing switch, and to increase durability of the washing machine by using a humidity sensing circuit to restrict a disorder or noise. CONSTITUTION: A dryer of a drum-type washing machine with a belt, a motor, and a heater comprises a humidity sensing unit(200) outputting various voltage values according to whether the laundry contacts on the drum; a pulse sensing unit(300) detecting the pulse according to the voltage value output from the humidity sensing unit; a microcomputer(400) outputting control signals after sensing belt loosened or not through the pulse output from the pulse sensing unit; and a load driving unit(500) controlling to drive the motor and heater according to the control signals of microcomputer. The microcomputer judges that the belt is normally connected in repeatedly inputting high/low pulse signals from the pulse sensing, whereas the microcomputer judges that the belt is loosened in continuously inputting high signals. |
