PURPOSE: A method for supporting handoff by using an SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) in an all-IP network is provided to solve a tunneling problem in a mobile IP and effectively maintain/manage position information of a mobile terminal by allowing an application layer to perform a processing related to movement of a mobile terminal by expanding an SIP. CONSTITUTION: When a mobile terminal(A) is moved from a home network(100) to a sub-network(210), the mobile terminal(A) registers its information in an LFP(Local Foreign Proxy)(30) which manages the sub-network(210). When the LFP(30) forwards the information of the mobile terminal(A) and LFP position information to an RFP(Root Foreign Proxy)(20), the RFP(20) registers the forwarded information(S2). When the RFP(20) forwards the information of the mobile terminal(A) and RFP position information to a home proxy(10), the home proxy(10) registers the forwarded information(S3).
