PURPOSE: A spinning reel is provided to wind a fishing line densely and to facilitate to make the parallel windings by use of reduction gear type oscillating device. CONSTITUTION: The spinning reel oscillating device serves to reciprocate a spool reciprocatingly installed to a reel body(2) of a spinning reel via interworking with rotation of handle through a spool shaft. The spinning reel oscillating device includes a first noncircular gear(15), a second noncircular gear, a rotating cam(16), and a slider. The first noncircular gear rotates about a rotating axis of the handle. The second noncircular gear is arranged so that a maximum tooth circle of the first noncircular gear corresponds to a minimum tooth circle of the second noncircular gear. The rotating cam is installed to the reel body rotatably about an axis parallel to the first noncircular gear. The slider is supported by the reel body as to be possibly moved along an axis(8) of the spool.
