VERTICAL TYPE VACUUM-SEALING AND AIR EXHAUSTING APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURE OF PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL CAPABLE OF SHORTENING TIME TAKEN FOR VACUUM-SEALING AND AIR EXHAUSTING PROCESS

PURPOSE: A vertical type vacuum-sealing and air exhausting apparatus is provided to shorten the time taken for vacuum-sealing and air exhausting process, and efficiently discharge impurity gases from a PDP(plasma display panel) prior to the vacuum-sealing process. CONSTITUTION: A vertical type vacuum-sealing and air exhausting apparatus comprises a horizontal alignment unit(1), a clipping unit(2), a PDP mounting unit(3), a loading chamber(4), a vacuum-sealing/air exhausting chamber(5), a cooler chamber, an extraction chamber(7), and a PDP transfer unit. The horizontal alignment unit horizontally aligns a front plate and a rear plate of the PDP. The clipping unit clips the PDP such that a deviation of the PDP aligned by the horizontal alignment unit is prevented and a PDP contact state is maintained during sealing. The PDP mounting unit mounts the PDP onto a deck in a vertical direction. The loading chamber accommodates PDPs aligned in a vertical direction, at the state where vacuum of the vacuum-sealing/air exhausting chamber is not broken down. The vacuum-sealing/air exhausting chamber vacuum-seals the PDP mounted in the loading chamber. The cooler chamber is injected with a cooler gas for efficiently cooling the PDP which is vacuum-sealed by the vacuum-sealing/air exhausting chamber. The extraction chamber accommodates the PDP cooled by the cooler chamber and permits the PDP to be extracted after discharge gas injection and sealing process. The PDP transfer unit transfers the PDP extracted from the extraction chamber to a transfer unit(9).
