PURPOSE: A compensation method of the starting fuel amount in cold starting is provided to improve starting efficiency by detecting the shortage of fuel according to rpm and frequency of the engine and compensating the fuel amount. CONSTITUTION: An engine control unit decides satisfaction of starting ignition condition, and detects the segment cycle from an engine rpm sensor(S1,S2). The engine control unit calculates the segment frequency sequentially according to the segment cycle(S3), and compares the first segment frequency with the second segment frequency(S4). The engine control unit calculates the segment cycle deviation sequentially, and decides satisfaction of starting end ignition condition(S5,S6). The engine control unit resets the fuel compensation factor, and starts the engine according to the predetermined basic starting fuel amount(S7,S8). The engine is operated normally in finishing starting the engine(S10).
