摘要 PURPOSE: A windshield wiper-driving mechanism for a vehicle is provided to reduce the injured degree when passenger's head collides with a driving motor and to keep the wiping performance of a wiper blade excellent. CONSTITUTION: In a windshield wiper-driving mechanism(10) for a vehicle, an impact-absorbing member is installed between the front of a cowl top cover and a cowl lower panel of a cowl panel. A ring cage is connected to a speed reducer output shaft of a driving motor(11). Pivot shafts(15,15') are installed to the ring cage and are supported by pivot housings(17,17') mounted with brackets(18,18'). One-sides of the brackets are interconnected by a connection bar(19) to which the driving motor is fixed and are built in a cavity of the cowl panel. The other sides of the brackets are fixed to a cowl inner panel. The speed reducer output shaft of the driving motor is withdrawn upward. An impact-absorbing protrusion formed to the side of the driving motor is supported to the cowl inner panel and the driving motor is situated to the front lower part of the cavity. Notches(30,30') are formed to the bottom of the brackets. The connection bar is situated to the front lower part of the cavity.
