<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color display type liquid crystal display device having a layered color layer spacer, the display device having favorable display quality, high yield and a spacer comprising a layered color layer. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a columnar spacer formed as a layered body of color layers having a plurality of colors on one of two substrates opposing to each other and holds a liquid crystal between the two substrates. In this display device, properties of the spacer are varied by changing the layering order of the color layers, and the impurity content in the uppermost color layer in the color layers constituting the columnar spacer is controlled to be smaller than the impurity concentration in one of other lower color layers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
