PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the rigidity of a lens driver mainly including an objective lens, a lens holder and focusing and tracking coils in an objective lens drive unit used for an optical pickup device. SOLUTION: A focusing coil is formed by winding it roughly in a triangular shape around an axis parallel to the optical axis direction of an objective lens, and thus the focusing coil is arranged near the objective lens. Accordingly, the rigidity of the lens driver is increased, and an optical beam condensed by the objective lens accurately traces the recording surface and the track of an information recording medium.
