PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an optical fiber gyroscope output noise caused by a relative intensity noise of outgoing light from an optical fiber type light source. SOLUTION: In this optical fiber gyroscope having the optical fiber type light source comprising an excitation light source, a WDM coupler and an EDF, light from the optical fiber type light source is branched into two beams, and circulated and propagated in the mutually reverse direction to an optical fiber coil, and at least either of the two beams entering the optical fiber coil is subjected to phase modulation, and the intensity of interference light formed by coupling again the two beams from the optical fiber coils is detected, and a signal showing the rotational angular velocity around the axis of the optical fiber coil is outputted. An optical fiber wherein an active element in the optical fiber type light source is doped and the optical fiber coil are wound around the same coil bobbin, and at least the coil bobbin around which they are wound is stored in a vacuum container having the internal pressure of 1/10 atmospheric pressure or lower.
