<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite read and write device in which switch to a mode to read optical information and switch to a noncontact read and write mode by radio are automatically implemented according to the procedure that is set arbitrarily beforehand. <P>SOLUTION: This composite read and write device stores the procedure of reading by optical information and noncontact reading and writing by radio in a memory means beforehand.
