PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved positioning assistant for assisting an alignment of a heavy machine, and to provide a method of assisting the alignment of the heavy machine by using such a positioning assistant. SOLUTION: The positioning assistant, which can be alternatively contacted with a floor, is attached to a bottom surface of a heavy machine 100. The positioning assistant includes a lot of alignment components 10. When the positioning assistant is contacted with a floor 110, these alignment components 10 are constituted so that the heavy machine 100 may be supported within a plane in a floating type.
