PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter for remote control in which energy loss of a booster circuit is reduced by employing circuit constitution in which voltage is supplied to the booster circuit in matching with timing to the output of a remote control code signal. SOLUTION: The transmitter for remote control comprises a center controller 21 for remote control which outputs a select signal, a command signal generating circuit 2 having a memory storing a command signal to be read out with the select signal and a modulating circuit which modulates a carrier wave with the read-out command signal and generates and outputs the remote control code signal, a light emission drive part 3 where a transistor 31 and an infrared-ray emitting diode 32 are connected in series, and a power source 1. Further, the transmitter for remote control which emits and outputs an infrared remote control code signal is characterized in that the memory stores a program for making the center controller 21 output the remote control code signal and a switching signal and a switching circuit which is switched with the switching signal and the booster circuit are connected between the power source and light emission drive part.
