PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device capable of solving the problem, such as operability, which is heretofore controversial in the conventional map display device relating to display of underground maps. SOLUTION: The map display device which can display underground maps, such as maps of underground shopping areas and the towns under the elevated structures is so constituted as to include a means 4 for operating underground map display for operating the request for display of the underground map on a display screen at the time of displaying the terrestrial map on the display device.
