SEMICONDUCTOR MODULE AND METHOD FOR USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor module which can prevent a semiconductor module variation for dealing with each application from increasing by preventing thermal stress to a bidirectional switch from concentrically increasing by preventing damage due to incorrect connection, and to provide a method for using the same. SOLUTION: The semiconductor module used for a PWM cycloconverter includes the bidirectional switches inserted between routes of the number obtained by multiplying the number of output terminals by the number of phases of ac power sources of the routes for connecting phases of the ac power sources to PWM cycloconverter output terminals each outputting an arbitrary voltage and composed of semiconductor groups, respective voltage input terminals connected to the phases of the ac power sources, and respective voltage output terminals connected to the respective PWM cycloconverter output terminals. The respective bidirectional switches connected to the same voltage input terminal are disposed dispersively from each other, and the respective bidirectional switches connected to the same voltage input terminal are disposed close to each other.
