PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal isolation device designed to realize a reduction in heat transfer to fuel components, which leads to an improvement in the performance of the liquid fuel components. SOLUTION: A thermal isolation device (10) for a gas turbine combustor assembly includes a plurality of substantially flat plates (24, 26, 28) secured in spaced relationship by a plurality of columns (12, 14, 16), at least one column incorporating a bolt hole (18) for use in securing the thermal isolation device between a pair of combustor components (40, 42). The columns (12, 14, 16) are arranged so that the thermal isolation device (10) can be inserted between the pair of combustor components (40, 42) by making use of an existing bolt hole pattern of the combustor components.
