There is provided an optical information recording medium having a plurality of recording layers where recording can be performed. Signal characteristics in a certain area X of the recording layer A (second layer) among the recording layers are defined by the condition that an area Y of the recording layer B (first layer) adjacent to the recording layer A (second layer) in the incident side on the optical axis of the optical beam irradiated to the area X is an already-recorded area. Thus, it is possible to suppress measurement irregularities and errors of the various signal characteristics due to the leak light from the adjacent recording layer and manage and define medium parameters with a high reliability, compatibility, and a characteristic value having a high reproducibility. |
