PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide medical X-ray apparatus facilitating an operation of determining the irradiation range of an X-ray by the drive of an X-ray diaphragm. SOLUTION: This medical X-ray apparatus is provided with an X-ray source (an X-ray tube 10) irradiating a subject 300 with the X-ray, the X-ray diaphragm 20 controlling the irradiation range of the X-ray from the X-ray source by the operation of diaphragm vanes, an X-ray image receiving part disposed oppositely to the X-ray source and outputting the X-rays transmitting through the subject as image data, and a display means (a monitor 90) displaying the image data as an image. The display means is provided with a contact position detecting means detecting a contact position of an operator on an image display surface and outputting position data. This apparatus is further provided with an X-ray diaphragm control means driving the diaphragm vanes to adjust the irradiation range of the X-ray to the contact position based on the position data.
