PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel search announcing method and a digital broadcast receiver for announcing revision of a channel plan to broadcast viewers with a simple method when a transmission station of digital broadcast adds, deletes a broadcast program and revises the broadcast channel plan. SOLUTION: When a digital broadcast transmitter adds, deletes a broadcast program or changes a broadcast frequency, the digital broadcast transmitter utilizes a version number of program arrangement information as channel search announcing information to urge performance of channel search to the digital broadcast receiver, and the digital broadcast receiver discriminates the updated version number as the channel search announcement information.
