PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a stencil paper roll without scrapping it even when there is a defect in a part thereof. SOLUTION: In a master roll 1 set in a platemaking device 75 of the stencil printing device, a defect part wherein fibers are aggregated is detected and a position corresponding to it is marked in the producing process. When an optical sensor 55 detects the marking, a control means controls so that a master length for one plate including the marking is scrapped without being used for printing. Platemaking is immediately stopped when the marking is detected, and conveying of a master is continued as it is. A tip of the master is fastened between a master clamper 42, and the master is cut in a predetermined length for one plate, supplied and wound. The master just after being wound around a printing drum 40 is peeled off by a plate delivering device 72 without supplying printing paper 49. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
