PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance impact stability of a writing electrode against an image carrier by suppressing the effect of behavior of one writing electrode 3a onto an adjacent writing electrode in a large number of writing electrodes supported on a flexible substrate while being arranged and being pressed by a press member. SOLUTION: A specified number of writing electrodes 3a are supported on a flexible substrate 3b while being arranged in the main scanning direction. A flexible pressing member 10 is provided oppositely to each writing electrode 3a on the side of the substrate 3b opposite to the supporting surface of the writing electrode 3a. A slit 4 extending in the subscanning direction is made in the pressing member 10 between adjacent writing electrodes 3a and 3a. In the adjacent writing electrodes 3a and 3a, effect of behavior of the other writing electrode 3a onto one writing electrode 3a can be suppressed by the slit 4. Even if the other writing electrode 3a vibrates, vibration of one writing electrode 3a can be prevented effectively and impact stability of the writing electrode 3a against the image carrier is enhanced.
