PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a denim cloth having improved designability/fashionability. SOLUTION: A pattern composed of protruded part 5 is formed on the surface of a denim cloth 1 by embossing. The embossed denim cloth 1 is immersed in a decoloring liquid and the surface of the cloth 1 is rubbed e.g. with the fingertip of a rubber glove to uniformly decolor the top of the protruded part 5 while leaving the material color at the surrounding part of the protrusion. As a result, the pattern of the protruded part 5 becomes similar to the pattern drawn with the material color.
