<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized image forming apparatus having narrow width by employing a body gear, in which the longitudinal size becomes short. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an electrophotographic photoreceptor drum; an electric motor; the body gear being provided on an apparatus body; a cross sectional polygonal twisted hole; a twisted polygonal projection fitted to the polygonal hole; a moving means for relatively moving the hole and the projection to the longitudinal direction of the photoreceptor drum; an inside bearing provided at the side of the photoreceptor drum; a shaft member provided at the reverse side of the photoreceptor drum; and a fitting hole which is a rotation center of the body gear by fitting to the shaft member. When the body gear is rotated in a state of the projection being fitted to the hole, the rotational force of the body gear is transmitted to the photoreceptor drum via the hole and the projection, in a state of the projection being pulled in the direction of the hole. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
