<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for a vehicle preventing the steering device from getting unsteerable by consumption of a battery and certainly exhibiting fail-safe function in the steering device for the vehicle adopting a steer-by-wire system. <P>SOLUTION: The steering device for the vehicle is provided with a mechanism 3 capable of transmitting motion of a steering motor 2 power-fed by a first battery 51 and a motor 30 for preliminary steering power-fed by a second battery 52 to a wheel 4 without mechanically connecting the operation member 1 to the wheel 4 so as to generate variation of a steering angle. The motor 30 for preliminary steering is driven in response to operation of the operation member 1 instead of the steering motor 2 by a control system for driving the steering motor 2 in response to the operation of the operation member 1 upon detection of abnormality of the steering motor 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
