The device has a frame (1) with wheels (11) that are mounted with respect to the frame between folded and rolling positions. The folded position enables the placing of the frame between two sections of a base structure of a shelf. The rolling position enables the displacement of the shelf. The frame is associated with cushions inflatable by gas under a pressure greater than 210 Pascal. An independent claim is also included for a method for displacing a modular shelving of a shop or a warehouse.
